About Us
Reach Family Services was founded in 2015 by two visionary women, Vicky Johnson and Sherry Candelaria, who shared a deep commitment to strengthening families and communities. While Vicky has since retired, Sherry continues to serve as our Vice President of the Board, helping guide the agency with the same passion and purpose that inspired its creation. The foundation they built remains strong, and today, we carry their vision forward—one day, one family, and one act of support at a time.
As Reach’s first hire and now CEO, Tavo Sastre has played a pivotal role in shaping the agency’s growth. Through empathy, education, and an unwavering belief that no child or family should be left behind, Tavo has helped Reach become a trusted resource for families navigating behavioral health and emotional challenges. Our mission is to support families who are raising children with behavioral health and emotional challenges. We know that when families are supported and respected, they become more resilient. And when families are resilient, they raise children who are better able to face and overcome adversity.
As we celebrate 10 years of service and growth, we reflect on our beginnings, take pride in how far we’ve come, and remain deeply committed to the journey ahead. This milestone belongs not only to our dedicated team, but to every family, partner, and friend who has walked alongside us.
Thank you for being part of the Reach Family.
With deep appreciation,
